I would say that draught was when the airflow is in line with the birds, and ventilation is when the airflow is well above or below the birds, so providing the birds dont have to sit/perch/lay etc in the airflow you should leave it open as air circulation and exchange is mega important.
or so i've been told...............

Hi stuart.

I'd be tempted to block the bottom half of the window to avoid the draught blowing across them, as Ceri said. But hard to tell from a photo. Best thing is to stick you hand in when it's breezy and see where you start to feel a draught.

Hmm good advice -the window does look quite high and that potentially could be a bit of a draught. I have a similar window I leave open in the summer and close in winter but have two other ventilation holes (about 3 inches diameter) cut into the shed which circulate the air.
Really you porbably need to get into the shed and see for yourself with your OH holding a fan at the window that should give a fair idea!    Oh dont forget to post the piccies after!

Thanks for the advice.  I will cover over half the window.
I bought this expensive coop from a reputable dealer.  Paid alot of money for it.  Why because I did not know the first thing about chickens, coops. I am most disappointed with it. It is rotting from the inside out!!.  The door has shrunk and now has a 5-6mm gap all the way down it. I have fitted bit of wood over it.
I am going to get in it at the week end and see what draft there are!!
Photos soon.
