About to look for some grease bands for fruit trees for the first time. Are there several sorts? Equally effective? Or do you experts have your own special methods and "recipes"? Any advice gratefully received.

I'm typing this for Muntjac......get some bandages, a tin of grease from the car shop. Wrap bandage around tree, about 6 inches from the base.....then smother it in grease....it will last twice as long and be a 3rd cheaper....they last for about 5 or 6 years.....the others have to be changed yearly. The ones you buy get covered in dust and the bugs walk over them.
