Something is getting my kale leaves....?

I have taken to doing a nightly vigil in my plastic greenhouse and ousting any slugs and snails and caterpillers, but there is something funny on my leaves.

I can only describe it as though something is crawling on the top of the leaves and leaving a white train within the leaf, rather than any substance on top, can't really google it as I don't have a clue what it might be....? Any ideas

Also, if the slugs, snails and caterpillers are having such a good go in the greenhouse, will I ever be able to plant the kale out and stand a chance???

Sounds like a leaf miner

An all encompassing name for several larvae of moths and beetles that burrow between to top and middle layers of the leaf leaving tell tale white squiggles.

Pick and destroy the leaves that are affected if possible.

They just love the brassica family

On the other hand, they are not supposed to be in the gh, you should really plant them out as soon as you can.

Thanks for the info - away to destroy leaves.

To be honest we haven't been able to get out and prepare a bed for the kale (and also I am a bit terrified about them being killed overnight)

Found some baby green caterpillers on them today. Will put them in bigger pots until the lottie is dry enough to get to and dig and then plant out . I also have some cabbage but the seedlings are only about an inch high so they can wait.

We have had a problem with leaf miner on the apple trees as well as white fly, we sprayed for the white fly and already the tree looks better, we have been told to burn the leaves as they fall, so marigolds on and out I go LOL :oops:
