Best time to plant hops?
« on: September 02, 2008, 17:25 »
I have 2 hop plants in buckets. Their doing okay and look healthy. My dilemma is when should I plant them on the allotment?

I read somewhere the best time is spring when the ground can be worked but if I do wait till spring will they be okay in 3 gallon bucket over the winter?

Any thoughts welcome :)

Yes, even they stop growing in the winter for a while.

I have a golden hops that has been in a bucket for about 3-4 years and has fruited (if thats the right word) for the first time this year so I am sure that it will be fine till next year
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.
