Using Pots
« on: August 30, 2008, 17:46 »
Hi im not normally a veg grower, but after reading some posts on here i wonderd about using the pots and baskets i have which had flowers in during summer, to pot some veg in for over winter/autumn. Does anyone do this, if so what suggestions for the pots they are roughley 12" to 16" round pots.

Thanks Geoff

You could try lettuce and peas but think you would have to be quick

Don't forget to wash the pots before you use them again, to prevent the spread of pathogens

Kale, spring onions, various salad leaves, late peas, herbs, carrots, purple sprouting broccoli, beetroot, radishes, shallots, potatoes, spinach, lettuce, turnip / swede and garlic. Strawberries for next year.

I grow everything in pots in my yard, just about to put some fennel out too.
