Would love to start a SMALL veg patch, is it too late, and what can I plant now??

I have been looking at all the veg plot piccys and think you are all inspirational - Well done you lot!

it's never too late  

Folks are planting cabbages, caulis, kales, you can sow Bordeaux spinach, winter lettuces White Lisbon winter type spring onions, and the Japanese onions sets and garlic will soon be in the shops, if not already     Oh, almost forgot, shallots too. Easy to grow and dead hardy

can I sow all these from seed? ( apart from onions and garlic)

Ive just sown some spring Cabbage in a seed tray. I can transplant them onto the plot next month when they are big enough.
