The new bristol ex batts.....Update
« on: July 30, 2008, 22:27 »
Well got my new girls on sunday from The north London Hen Rescue, Carly and crew worked tirelessly to rescue nearly 2000 hens on the weekend, they all deserve a saint status for their work :)

Anyway here's my 3 girls:

this is Peppa, she's the healthiest out of the 3 and very pretty albeit scared of her own shadow at the moment:

this is Tula, a real sweety and very placid:

And this is Little Annie, not a well girl, no fluffy knickers for her just a very revealing thong, she's very fiesty and has the other 2 running for cover when she decides to attack, if she was a dog she's be a Jack Russel:

They are so weak especially Annie that they are on Chick crumbs and meal worms for now to try and stop them laying, they need all the nutrition and goodness they can get without trying to lay blooming eggs

Poor, poor Annie! Why aren't the farmers ashamed? This is such a disgrace.  Three cheers for you! At least they all have a chance now, and will live happy lives.

thank you both for you kind words of encouragement, it breaks your heart when you see the state of them doesnt it? apparently most of the hens were in a fairly rough state, the farm they came from I hear was a particularly horrid one, one of the worst they have seen

Oh bless them, makes me want to adopt more, we got 3 in March and i would love more. You will notice a difference in them very soon, 4 months on and mine have all their feathers back, and they are the cheekiest girls. So friendly aswell, as soon as they hear us they come running.
Well done for rescuing some.
