Well, thanks to encouragement I sprinkled the top of our broad bean, pea, lemon zest and creme fraiche pasta with leek flowers tonight and it was blooming wonderful.

Highly, highly, highly recommended. Watch this space - all the fancy restaurants will be raving about their leek flowers soon.......

Just realised I posted this in the wrong place if someone would be kind enough to move it!

yes - very much actually - a mix of spring onions and garlic I'd say.

very potent though so just a reserved sprinkling would be adequate for anything which makes a whole head of them go a very, very long way!!

they look really pretty too - I'm going to put them in a salad tomorrow

The flowers come from 2nd year leeks, which is their time to seed, so the roots are less than edible. The stalks can get very tall so you'll want to stake them.
