Brian finished gutting the last of the meat chickens today, and called me to see this.  Munty will have seen them loads of times, but I've never seen it before.

You know when Munty says that a chicken only has a certain amount of eggs in her?  So if you get too many double yolkers that chicken will stop laying earlier? Well I wondered how the chicken knows its laid too many, but this explains it all.

Isn't that amazing?  All those little eggies waiting to come out, and if you look in the middle, all those white blobs are the eggs that are getting ready to form, so once that string of eggs has gone, that's it, no more eggs!!

When I was up in Scotland with Aggy and Munty, Munty asked if I'd ever had eggs from inside a chicken.  I hadn't, but he said they are the sweetest eggs you will ever eat, but I thought he meant there would be one there, not the whole bunch!!!!

Brian threw them away though!!

And I think you may notice if your boiled eggs were a bit small!!!!

Mind you, one of the meat chickens had started to lay, so she was an early bird!!!  and her eggs were tiny, but the one I opened the other day although tiny was a double yolker!!!!

I have had chucks around me as long as i can remember but am learning some fab stuff now thanks to all you guys out there.
