HI everyone

I'm just popping in quickly to pick your brains i'm afraid!

Noticed Chicken Licken was making gagging motions a lot yesterday pm - watched her in the eveing and today and haven't spotted it since should i be worried?

or just something sticking in her crop and then cleared ?

What Rob says !

Keep an eye on her for a while, if she continues OK then it was scratchy food not going down. If she does it a lot more or her comb goes a bit blue or her breathing is laboured the give her flubenvet for 7 day. Some people recommend 14 days for gapeworm !

Was she actually gagging or just keep opening her mouth? I notice ours do that a lot when they are hot too, and it was hot yesterday!

Yes they do don't they Grannie, a bit like a dog panting to cool down :!:

If hens open their beak wide and stretch their neck up the are trying to swollow - either food

or a lung worm :shock:

Thank you everyone - keep watching her for 5 mins at a time as often as i can today and i've not seen it since!
