Oh yeah!

Been a lot of this around this year apparently, not too sure my own spuds aren't affected. Hopefully I will have soon enough compost, chicken poo and green manure on the go, not to need any more horse muck for next year.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Glad I know what goes in my two so I know that what comes out the other end is safe to use (horses I mean).  No known problems here as yet.

What must the milk or meat from these animals contain then if their muck kills plants.

Has anyone thought about that ?

Vegmandan, that is a scary thought, I'll stick to Organic milk from now on.

Vegmandan that is a good point. We can control what we grow but what about the by products from the animals. What a scary thought.

Does anyone know of a test, preferably one I can do myself, for this horrendous herbicide.  I have a load of manure which I am not sure but may be contaminated.  One of our neighbours has affected tomatoes. :(

Plant any spare plant from the solanum family in it, they seem most sensitive.

Woodman asked what I use for bedding.  Wood shavings and/or shredded paper.  Hopefully this will be okay as I don't think either of these get sprayed with anything.

Read this:

http://www.epa.gov/opprd001/factsheets/aminopyralid.pdf

Clearly it is being used where it should NOT be ... AND the quantities used per acre seem to vary in scary proportions
