Brilliant allotment dinner

On Tuesday evening we had dinner out in the courtyard to celebrate my youngest brother´s visit. My better half grilled some locally reared organic pork and the rest of the feast was from the allotment! (except for the bread, butter, olive oil, lemon and eggs. But give me time.) We had sauteed broccoli-raab on bruschettas, radishes dunked whole into a butter sauce with chopped fresh chives, beetroot and carrot thinnings marinated in lemon juice and olive oil, ruccola and spinach salad, and OUR FIRST POTATOES! They were electric pink when I washed them, but they turned a normal potato colour when we cooked them. They tasted like what potatoes must taste like in heaven. We don´t know what kind they are as they are rogue spuds from the previous allotment holder.

My brother took some photos and when he has returned from carousing in Denmark I will post them up. He also took some of me watering the plot yesterday so I´ll put those up as well.
