Just picked my first goosberries today.  Right forearm looks like I been self-harming, think I need a Kevlar gauntlet. Nearly one bush down, two and a bit to go.

The bowl on the left is a 13 incher.

Anyway about 20 lb of gooseberries to play with. Look out stomach.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

They look great - just planted my first goseberry this year and I have about 10 gooseberries on it - I have a feeling you will be making a better crumble than I will! Never mind there is always next year to look forward to :)

Gooseberries should be picked when ready - and certainly before the pigeons get to them.

Now I really am jealous  . Planted my first new bush this year and there were some flowers developing when we went on holiday mid-May. When we came back at the start of June there was nothing - no sign there'd been a flower and certainly no fruit.

Hopefully this is because it's the first year? Or maybe the frost was to blame? (It certainly got to my spuds while we were away).

Cheers,

Adrian
