What to plant now...
« on: June 19, 2008, 17:53 »
For those that were asking...  I was perusing a gardening book today and it said that after the longest day is the ideal time to sow chinese cabbage and oriental greens (Mizuna, Mustard Greens, Pak choi).  They often mature fast - 5-6 weeks the they should be sown after the longest day, apparently!

You can apparently sow now: annual herbs, beans (french and runner), beetroot, carrots, chard, chicory, endive, kale, kohlrabi, land cress, lettuces, parsley, peas, perpetual spinach, radishes, salad onions, squashes, swedes, sweetcorn, sweet fennel, turnips....
