Green bugs on lettuces

Anyone any idea what they could be? They seem to be crawling all over the leaves, very small green insects. Are they a problem? Can I get rid of them?

If you wash the lettuce (when you've picked it of course

) in a bowl of salty water they and any thing else falls off much more easily.
