Catch Crops
« on: June 15, 2008, 09:43 »
Hi, We're into the 2nd year of our allotment and its looking much better than last year.  We have some spaces though & we'll have more when we start to lift the potatoes.  Ive seen catch crops mentioned but I'm not entirely sure what are the best things to plant. I hate to see wasted space.
:D I'll be grateful for any advice

I like to grow Little Gem lettuces, beetroots and spring onions from seed in various gaps which appear.  Salad leaf mixtures and oriental seed mixes are also easy to fit in to spaces vacated by harvested veg
