Heres our recently purchased hen?

Cockadoodledooed on wednesday, nothing since.

Internet searches say this is not uncommon, would all like to give an opinion as advice would be much appreciated.

Take part in the poll is it or isnt it

Thanks all

Unfortunately if it is a boy I won't be able to keep him.

On Wednesday I was 90% sure it was a boy but on Thursday I found 4 good eggs and 2 soft shell eggs = 6.

I only have 6 birds, I always check the coup daily and dont think that I missed any eggs from the  previous day.

For mumsy

I'd be in the same boat or returning a boy. :(
I had to make sure i had the 'agreement' with the shop. we're not allowed, and as a thread showed in the off topic section it can lead to legal disputes.

if you see him having a bit of "how's your father with the hens" then i think you'll know for sure...........unless of course he's a gender bender!

Caught Louis playing piggyback yesterday so he had to go back.

While I was there I picked up two White Stars and a Speckledy, I also discovered that the Welsummers I bought were actually warrens.

Those White Stars can really fly, one jumped out of the box and settled on the handrail.

OH says i'll go and get the scissors to clip them, as she passed it on the way back it took off cleared a 6ft fence 12 ft away and landed in the middle of a really busy A road in rush hour  .

All the cars missed it and it legged/flew into the woods opposite.

Ten minutes later I emerged triumphnt from the woods with my landing net and one very annoyed hen. 8)

Top tip

If you need to clip their wings don't let them roam around before you get the scissors. :D  :D  :D
