Blacky-blue patches on toms - blight?
« on: June 04, 2008, 19:52 »
I know there is a whole array of tom problems and to be honest the site that has the most pictures doesn't match any of my leaves.

I have a pot grown gardeners delight and the bottom leave have bluey-black patches on them.  No other colours, no yellow or lumps or anything else - could this be blight?

It was out in yesterday's all day rain

I don't know about blacky/blue vineweevil, but blight is usually brown, but I'm no tomato expert.  DD is probs our most experienced tom man!!

I don't know the name but there is a distinct condition of that sort, defo no blight as Grannie says, but take the affected leaves of promptly, if want to have some plants.

Now hold on there! I'm no expert and especially not in the field of diseases, (fortunately!).

The closest I've ever seen on my tomatoes is a few years ago when the leaves got battered & bruised by the heavy rain. (They got blight later on   ).

As gobs says, take the leaves off & see how you go.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
