Broad Bean Lessons.
« on: June 02, 2008, 10:30 »
Hi All

Bit the bullet and pulled up all the Broad Beans this weekend. Had grown on from pots to a max of 15/20 inches, all looked very weak, one had turned yellow & all covered in black fly no matter how much I sprayed with soapy water.

Neighbouring plot said it's best to sow in Oct/Nov where they will grow stronger & be more resistant to black fly. Everyone elses were 4ft with loads of flowers/pods. Mine just had a few flowers.

Sowed my Leek seedlings to fill the gap. Live and learn.

Here's some pics.

Forgot to mention.

The 1st pic is next doors plot!! Got it the same time as me & has done nothing with it. Makes me angry when there's a large waiting list.
