JELLYS UPDATE
« on: May 31, 2008, 13:28 »
Okay guys, thought I would give you an overall update on me chooks n ducks n chicks n ducklings...........with piccies   :D

So where are those lovely little fluffy wuffy ducklings of 12th April.......
they're here

Are they boys or girlies  Me thinks they could be girlies tho Bertie keeps chasing them :x

Remember little Mabeline? she is still incy wincy tho

Little Gabby, pecked by her hatch mummy, so Dusty adopted her and then got at by someone else on her first day out. What a little fighter tho, still doing okay, you can see a tiny bit of her wound in the piccie (its about 5 times that size). You can see someone elses little head and eye looking out from mummy as well.

   don't worry they are all clean, and so is the coop. They were huddled in the corner of the coop where the silkies settle for the night. Dusty is nervous about taking them outside now so I put them in a run when its not raining

And last but not least, Toyah with her baby

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!

Your ducks are absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Jelly (the others are too, but the ducks looks so beautiful & glossy).  What sort are they?  I'm definitely going to have to have ducks one day  :D
Nobody said this was going to be easy ... but some days are better than others!

Isn't Toyah Beautiful.  Love the hair style.

You must be a very proud 'granny'!  They're doing so well.

They are cross PP, daddy is Bertie a Mallard and mummy is Jemima (probably) who is a big white French duck I think, mass produced normally for the table

Yeah I didn't like writing that but how else do we describe ourselves when the animals we've cared for produce offspring?  Cos you do get a feeling of pride.  Well at least I felt pride for you!

Well I'm exhausted from the constant egg turning and worrying about the right temperature + humidity for my 6 eggs in the incubator.  I've lost sleep over it.  And these lovely hens all do it instinctively and manage to produce lovely healthy babies.  I'm in awe!
