my runner beans are going yellow
I still think it's magnesium deficiency notice how the yellowing is starting around the edges and into the leaf from there, the veins are not yet affected, quite often it comes from the lower leaves up the plant, not inclined to go with the nitrogen as beans "fix" their own nitrogen with bacteria living on nodes in the root system this is why it's good too follow beans, peas and other legumes with brassicas esp if you leave the roots in the ground to rot away.
Anyway going for a general purpose foliar feed will cover the magnesium or any other deficiency  :D

Might well just be a bit of a weather impact, they look OK.

What variety are they, np?
I only ask because I've planted 5 varieties, all in same soil, fed identically etc, yet one variety is noticeably paler than the others....yet is perfectly healthy?
Could it just be the variety?

yellow runner bean leaves
I googled 'runner beans yellow leaves' and happened upon your post - so have registered specially to say 'mine are all yellow too, and so are my french beans.' I can see from your picture that you grew yours in toilet rolls  - I also did and some VERY peculiar fungi grew on them  wonder if this could be a factor? (and by the way I reckon mine are even yellower than yours) I watered them in with liquid seaweed and have given them some more today. Other than the yellowness they look fine so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

just ask for sulpahte of ammonia ,,, other name is urea

Hi muntjac do you know where urea comes from?

"It is found in mammalian and amphibian urine as well as in some fish."

Next thing do you realise what it gets used in?

Amongst its many uses its used as:

#An additive ingredient in cigarettes, designed to enhance flavour
# A browning agent in factory-produced pretzels
# An ingredient in some hair conditioners, facial cleansers, bath oils, and lotions
#An ingredient in many tooth whitening products
# A cream to soften the skin, especially cracked skin on the bottom of one's feet
# An ingredient in dish soap.

Nice eh?

ok so they may use a manmade synthetic version, or maybe not

An old vegetable grower..(I mean an old experienced vegetable grower -not a person that grows old vegetables) told me that when you plant in loo rolls or newpaper that nitrogen is depleted because the loo rolls and paper rob the nutrients from the soil. This is due to the first stages of decomposition of the paper and loo rolls!! I am no expert just the messenger!!

Correct Jazzy that applies to anything not composted or decomposed.

I've never had that problem with paper pots tho', I don't use loo rolls as I've heard they contain or used to chemicals that can inhibit germination, I suppose that's to stop them rotting or going mouldy in storage.

here is the pics

Can I advise you to remover the piece of the paper tube which is above the ground.  It can act as a wick and dry out the soil around the bean roots.  Which may prevent them gtting well established.
