I came back from holiday (missed all the wet stuff round here over the last two weeks) and my runner bean and butternut squash plants are very yellow. Could it be too much water. Not sure there is anything I can do about it if it is.

Nick
Are you looking for an allotment (full or to share) in South East Sheffield. PM me for details.

My runner beans are yellow too. Hardly grown in 3 weeks either. Plot was flooded so I'm thinking along the same lines.

Must admit mine are looking the same way, if they don't pick up in the next weeks or so I shall apply some Epsom salts just in case its magnesium deficiency, but more likely it's the poor weather we are having.

possibly the cold winds. I know Morning Glory go yellow if they get cold so maybe other tender plants do too. As I'm growing a yellow leaved variety I dunno - but they won't get going because the wind keeps blowing them off the canes

That would be my recommendation Richy.  They should green up again within about a couple of weeks  :D
