Saw on the news earlier that next summer is predicted to be even hotter, though I don't know exactly how they can be so sure.

Just been reading that the Met Office and the University of East Anglia are predicting 2007 will be the warmest year since records began (globally)

That's a cheery thought.

I think that we have a lot of clever people who devote a lot of time looking at this and their conclusions are much more likely to be true than my guess.

It's ironic that I spent most of my life under the shadow of the bomb and now that's gone away it looks possible we're going to be all doomed due to our industrial success!

... you're a cheery lot I must say.

The earth temperature fluctuates, and whether the current changes are due to global warming or not, it's been through drought and ice ages in the past.  The earth will survive, humans may not.

I'm not helping much am I??

The End is Nigh!
The four horsemen are loose and a great beast shall riseth from the sea, but shall be push-ed back in again by Greenpeace activists and the horses shall be freed by the ALF

In the back of my mind was the prediction of a new ice age coming made in the 70's - perhaps the warming will be balanced out.
