ash from fire that has burnt weed's(couch and the usual)

ash from the fire can i put this straight on to th veg patch or should i siv it first to make sure all the weeds are burnt ......thanks in advance :roll:

If any isn't burnt it's surely cooked !!

I sometimes sieve ash to get the bigger bits of charcoal out but no need to really.

I was going to ask this question, glad i searched first

I just sprinkled some all over before digging in, was that the right thing to do? I guess you can put too much on? Also does it alter the PH of the soil?
