I've been offered a greenhouse for my allotment BUT the council say I can put it on my plot only if there is "no glass"
Any ideas on what can I use instead?
I dont mind spending a little bit (but would rather not)

Is the polycarb sheet the same stuff they use for conservatory roofs or do you mean the clear stuff (plastic glass)?

I do believe so, but don't quote me on this - not an expert, never used it. I'm sure someone with first hand experience will be along soon!

I use twin wall polycarbonate sheets to replace broken glass in my greenhouse. I buy 10mm thick stuff and it just about fits in using the same clips as for glass.

You can buy thinner stuff but it is more expensive. Wickes do great big sheets of the stuff and you can easily cut it to size using a jigsaw.

being twin wall means it is 'double glazed' in the winter and as it isn't as clear as glass I get less problems with scorching in the summer.

Think as you really only have the polycarb sheet option, I really wouldnt like to see sheeting in a gale force wind that is becoming more common each year.
