Breakfast on the plot - black pudding etc

Ok, last weekend ignited a ritual for Sunday mornings.
This Sunday's menu is as follows - please feeel free to comment and suggest regional variations :tongue2:

I reckon max 4 main ingredients, maybe 3, then add all the extras :)

Fried eggs  :tongue2: Or poached, or scrambled, or dippy in shell
The best eggs we can get here are Old Cotswold Legbar from Clarence Court.
Hens eggs or duck, or something else?

Bacon, smoked or un-smoked? Do you get what you pay for or if cooked alfresco is the quality lost - ditto other ingredients? :?

Black pudding - The Ginger Pig does an interesting one, lots of thyme.
Or a more mass produced one? Who does the best black Pud?

What about tomatoes? Tinned on tost or grilled?

Beans, mmmmm :tongue2:

Mushrooms, nothing exotic, go well with eggs & black pud

Toasted muffins
Lots of butter
Jam
Strong tea
Champagne to start? You only live once.

Plus good company.

Best meal of the day?

I run a B & B so breakfasts are my thing  :D   I never thought but it would be a novelty to dish em up on the lotty instead  :D

You could have one rasher smoked and one not  :D   I like chesnut mushrooms from Ireland - very tasty.  Grilled tomatoes I think.
Did you remember the fruit juice
Marmalade too please
The bacon disappears if you try and barbecue it so get the frying out unless your lotty stove has a grill  :D

I regularly make myself bacon sarnis on the plot.  I think there's only me does any cooking  :D

Mmmmmmmmmm - hungry now.
A proper breakfast for me is:
2 fried eggs
4 rashers of smoked bacon.
1 Fried slice (or substitute this for hash browns)
Mushrooms
Black pudding
White pudding
Maybe a kidney
Crusty white bread and butter
Black coffee
.....but definately no beans or tomatoes

mmm fried bread, ok
and Kidneys, yes, good suggestion.

Bit wary of wild fungi...?

Why did the mushroom have so many friends?

Because he was a fungi

I'll get my coat.......

You're near my neck of the woods, Alex!
Your brekkie sounds fab.
I also love a good Turkish breakfast:

boiled egg
loaf of just baked bread
olives
feta
tomatoes
honey

Fab when it's hot outside!

wow- sounds like a great idea- where did you say your plot is--ha-ha

why can't more plotters be social like this-  I think i'll get some smoked salmon-creamcheese and bagels  and drive around all enfield plots and sniff out bacon frying then just pop in with a bottlle of champers and join in the feast- what a great way to spend the day . Has anyone questioned your cooking on the plot?

As long as its not a charcoal/wood fire, ie use gas then its ok
And keep a tidy plot
And be on the commitee
And have booze on hand to schmooze any moaners
And a bacon sarnie
And a mug of tea
And a roll up
And love dogs
And cats

If all this doesn't work then go down the caff!

last time I was in the deep south I went into a butchers and asked for black pud, he called it blood pudding    Now I am sure the chap from Rochdale will agree you cant beat Bury pud.

If you're ever in Ireland, Aidy, go to Clonakilty - wonderful yummy black pud - best I've ever had. But then I haven't tried Bury pud.
