good question about earthing up celtboy. and congratulations on the nuptials!!! sorry, no caps as i'm lazy - using one hand.

so, earthing up - do you do it all the way up or do you leave the top leaves poking out? how often/how many times do you do it for potatoes in the ground?

If no frost expected - leave the leaves to see the sunlight & make food for the plant.

I earth up at least 3 times during the season, a little at a time, as I said to a height of 6 - 8". Regular earthing up helps to keep the weeds under control.

sorry guys was away working,and im just back from a week in prague.

i always earth up covering the whole plant..and they pop through in a day or so, at the mo im nearly 8" in size(no jokes) and im running out of soil to earth more, so that will have to do, no frost now surely.
