Here in London they emerged last week so I would say the soil is probably still too cold. They will take their time emerging but soon make up for being late once growth commences.

They came up quite late here last year too, which was a much warmer spring, no sign of them yet.

Mine have just started showing.  This is the second time I've grown them and they were through much earlier last year but that's probably down to it being a record breaking April in 2007.

Last year, they grew 14' tall.  What are the odds of the same this year?

Mine are just poking out now, and I live down south. I bought mine from a garden centre though as couldn't find any in the shops (hence why I'm growing my own!)

I started mine off in pots indoors in Jan cos I thought I was behind with them.
I planted them out as they shooted and then they sat there looking bored until this week when they have finally started growing. I've never grown them before so will have to wait and see how they do
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.
