I am looking to get about 3-4 layers to keep in our garden as pets, from what I've read Hybrids should be the best option for us, can anyone advise me where to get a decent but inexpensive coop & sorce the hens please? I am in Lancs, halfway between Manchester & Bolton.

all chickens lay eggs, just some more than others.

some will be docile and cuddly, some will be flighty and not let you near them.

have you had a nosey through the hen photo section on here. lots of chooks there, its always better to get the breed that makes you go 'awwww'.

its just that some us go 'awww'at any chook, which is why we we have lots of different ones.
