Rhubarb!!
« on: April 12, 2008, 23:34 »
I have just aquired a plot and have found Rhubarb on it, which I cannot stand...however my friend loves the stuff and has also just got a plot, though not on the same site. Is it possible to move the rhubarb and if so how? When is the best time?
Thanks
Cazz x

Me too, I've just tried to dig some up, it was blimmin hard to get down to the roots and I'm not sure I've got it all out, it is definitely possible to move it, just dig it out as well as you can, but I don't know what the right time is, I don't really think it matters when you move it (I could be wrong here) but once it's replanted I think you have to leave it for at least a year before it can be eaten.

Can't understand why people don't like this VEGETABLE.

Shouldn't really be moved now, Autumn to late winter is the time & yes, should be left for a year before harvesting.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I don't like the texture, or the sourness (yes I know you put sugar in it!) but it reminds me of school dinners which I hated. Didn't realise it was a vegetable though.
