Thanks for your kind words. I still keep thinking it may have been my fault. I am dreading telling my neighbour in case he gives me any more and the same thing happens. I'll just avoid him for the time being.

No, didn't know about that. It isn't really cold here though now. only drops to about 11 or 12 degrees Centigrade at night. Is that why they died. One of them was not eating or really drinking when I got them. I think that was the one that died first. I am not having any more though. Cannot cope with things dying.

No, I think they would probably have died anyway

But new chicks need to be kept very warm like they would be cuddled under their mum's feathers.

Others here can tell you what temperature they need, it's nothing I have ever done.
