Nathan, I screwed a double breeding cage on the inside of a breeze block shower room. I made a hole through the back of the breeding cage and the breeze block wall and then made a small aviary and bolted that to the outside of the wall over the hole so that the birds had acces to both the inside and the outide If i can do it, so can you.

I'll see if I can retrieve the thread from another forum.

Here you go Nathan.

Thursday tends to be my day off , so this is what I've done with it today.
I've promised my OH an aviary on the side of this utility room for ages,so this is the first stage.
I've taken the glass out of the top half of the window and there will be a double breeding cage inside the building screwed to the wall with a hole in its back that will give access to the flight for the birds.
The next job will be to put the twi -weld wire over the frame and for those who are interested I'll keep updating this thread as I come to each stage, with the final update being the arrival of the birds. :D  :D  :D

I've done quite a bit more today on the aviary. I've put quite a bit of the twi weld on . This is the tool you need.

I've had enough of bashing my fingers with hammers on titchy staples. I use my staple gun for all my chicken netting . Its much faster and less painful
Got to get some dowling for perches and a set of small hinges for a hatch into the flight  tomorrow :D

Not very interesting I know but you can just about see the twi weld on the frame . What you can definately see however is the angle that the shower block door is hanging at . Its been on my ' jobs to do list' for at least two years. Got to get your priorities right though havent you ? :D  :D  :D

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120239173031&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=002

all i would need is a table saw u have everything else, could sell them then and even make one offs for peple with the right amount of boxes they want

the  bourkes would need parakeet boxes tho

As for making those nest boxes the winning bid was £3.70 - hardly seems worth the effort does it!  :(
1 x hubby
2 x daughters
3 x chickens
1 x bunny
6 x african snails  . . . . . and counting.

Have you thought about trying an auction? I wouldnt even think about paying pets at home prices! I have seen small boxes with lots of different item for aviary sell for a couple of pounds . Youd pay more than a couple of pounds for one nest box from pets at home.
You could just make some?

hi Nathan I kept mainly Australian and African finches and not parrot type  they used all different types of nest receptacles.  but as for the zebs they will build a nest in an old fag packet given the chance they breed like mice and it wont be long before you are over run with them  there are some very nice zebs and colour variations out there and they often fetch good money.   sorry i messed the link up
