Technically thats enough room for 32 medium sized hens. They would need 9inches of perch space each at about 1 to 2 foot off the ground - lower for big heavy breeds and higher for lighter breeds. You would need a lot of run space though for that many hens. 1metre sqd per bird roughly 2x2foot I think?

1 metre = 3 ft 3 inch approx

1 sq metre = 10.5 sq ft approx

You might be better off buying or building a shed 5' or 6' high. Having built a coop on legs, it's easier to have a walk-in one !
Lots of bending and stretching and not easy to check on the birds once they're in.

32 chickens is far too many for a shed that size, a third of that number would be pushing it IMO.

10 would be nice and happy in an 8 x 4.

But I would consider making it walk in if you can.

The run needs to be at very least 10 sq metres but more is better. Especially if they are not free ranging at any time.

Good luck with it.

I use sheds -and and do have a a lot of birds in them. But they mostly free-range in large electrified areas with shelters.
Being able to stand up and clean them out without breaking your back is very important.
one 4x6 shed has about 14 birds in it at the mo.

I have 12 hens in a 4x6 foot shed and they have plenty of space at night, but they are free range during the day so only go in the shed to lay their eggs and roost at night
