hello. i am very new to gardening and the site!

short and sweet.... can i grow leeks in tubs?

Yes you can ... but why?

The show growers grow one big leek per pot so it can be done.  For normal growing they are best in the ground . However, if you're short of space so long as the tub is deep enough say 10" they'll be fine and you could earthup as they grow

Ok start with about 6" of compost in the tub plant your leek in 3" deep holes as they grow add a bit more compost so extending the blanched length of the leek .

It's worth a try

i have pets that will eat, dig up or pooh on anything in the ground. not to mention my kids!
