Hi,
Can anyone give me some advice on what the best fertiliser is for potatoes? Last November i dug in plenty of well rotted manure and i am hoping to start planting mid March. I have been told that a sprinkle of potash, sulphate of amonia and seaweed should be applied once the potatoes have been planted.

Any advice would be greatly recieved

That's right and then again a few weeks before harvesting

We've always just used the manure alone for our crops, and made sure they get water. Bumper crops every year - but that's with an area manured over many years.

Last year I just stuck mine in trug tubs with multipurpose peat free compost and I got a pretty good crop. But then again I like the easy life    and may have got a better crop if I had fed them

Thanks, just wanted to check. I am hiring a rotavator tomorrow to break the soil/manure up so i will be ready for planting later this month
