Hi
I've been growing garlic for years and after what was a very wet winter up here in the Highlands some of my garlic (Caulk White & Czechmate) have started to put out strange additional growth. A few had scapes that I cut off and used but some of the same had started this odd secondary shoot growth.
Can anyone possibly shine a light on what is going on?

Thanks for that, never heard of it before. Definitely weather related for me as I've tested my soil and use a 4 cycle crop rotation. And boy did we have bad weather this past winter!!
