Copper Mesh

I see the idea in the newsletter about copper for slug control. Research shows copper mesh is cheaper. I have the idea that this could be buried around the plant OR perhaps better still (reusable) wrapped and (stuck!) around a pot with the bottom cut off.

Anyone used copper and/or mesh for this purpose (before I buy yet another useless idea!)?

I used to have these copper rings around my Delphinium plants in my last garden to keep the slugs off, seemed to work well

Sorry, I don't know anything about the copper mesh, but it seems worth a try - nothing ventured nothing gained
