I dug up the remaining parsnips (and Charlotte potatoes  ) from the lotty at the weekend.
Have just spent this evening peeling and parboiling 4 1/2 lbs of parsnips, and mashing 4 lb 2 oz of spuds. I have blisters from the peeler, and no space in the freezer - before the above has gone in (I feel a trip to John Lewis coming on...) - but it's very satisfying!

I've frozen the rest of my parsnips and will soon be clearing my leeks which will all be cleaned and sliced and frozen. What a waste to compost

Ahem - just a suggestion but add yeast, sugar, a few other bits & pieces, and in six months or so - wa-hey - bladdered for about 30p a bottle.
