From the RHS: https://www.rhs.org.uk/vegetables/garlic/grow-your-own

"This is a fungal disease causing bright yellow spots on the leaves. It is often worse in long, wet spells.

Remedy
Mild attacks of rust won’t harm the plant, but serious infections may cause leaves to shrivel and affect yield. There is no control for rust once you have the infection. Make sure you don’t crowd plants, as this increases humidity and increases the likelihood of infection. Dispose of any badly affected plant material, and don’t grow garlic, leeks or onions in the same spot for three years."
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've found Neem oil and Lux flakes (diluted) works wonders, (on leeks as well).

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I've, ahem, accidentally sprayed rust infected leeks and garlic with diluted citrox. Whilst not completely getting rid it did make a huge improvement. Obviously I wouldn't recommend doing this as it's not licenced for such use

I got told it by an old boy and it  worked takes a month .low potassium and high nitrogen is the perfect environment for rust nitrogen makes the plants softer and also the rust feeds off of the nutrients that’s how just try it I had rust on my leeks now nothing takes a while you’ll think it’s not working but it will the Bloke who told me that had been growing for about 60yr

Ok thanks. I take it that sulphate of potash is what you would use but at what rate would be effective please ?

Sadly I was trying to follow the garlic farms website Calendar to feed and added some grow more 7-7-7 scratched into the surface, they also mention using Sulphur and rust protection but won’t elaborate on that  :(

I don’t know what damage I’ve done by applying the growmore 7-7-7 now but I have added sulphate of potash thanks.
I’m not too sure how that prevents the rust but after last years complete garlic destruction, I’m trying everything this year, even by growing early varieties in the hope that I can harvest before the rust completely takes hold!

Very much doubt you've done any damage with the Growmore  :)
