Are they still young hens or are they just coming out of a moult?
At the moment they look more like prom queens who fell into the swimming pool

They will be about 72 weeks old Trillium,  that is just the condition they get in to in cages   They are too cramped and they peck each other

Well done Babe,  lots of TLC and extra protein to regrow those feathers  :D

Edited - for posting at the same time as everyone else!

they look lovelly, if a bit dishevelled :D its a real shame how they are treated in those places. At least these few have a chance to enjoy life a bit now :D

It's surprising how quickly they gain condition and become chickens rather than egg machines.

Well done :)

Well done, they will soon get the hang of being just chickens rather than just egg producers :D

Well done Babe I am sure the egg was just a small thank you for saying thank goodness for getting me out of that place.

Please post more photos as their feathers grow back it will be nice to follow their progress.  I have thought about rescuing some battery hens and am sure that in the future I will as they all deserve a new loving home.

Well done Babe, those girls can now look forward to a real life...even a little comfort! Such a happy ending for them.

Would love to see photos in a few months.
