peach crumble and custard  :)

Is that with tinned peaches MrsPea?  I saw a recipe the other day for something like that but with raspberries as well for a sort of peach melba flavour.  I’ve been holding out on crumble season for a while, but caved in today and have a gooseberry and raspberry one ready to go into the oven.

Just the small matter of the main first, which is hm chicken pie, plot spuds, cabbage and squash.  I shall be dozing off later after that lot

The change of season/weather certainly changes what we want to eat, doesn't it?  ::)

It was a dreary day to be sure and the idea of pudding floating through my brain, then I read about MrsPea’s peach one and that was it  :)

It wasn’t too bad.  Pie was a Greek one with filo pastry.  The original recipe said poach a whole chicken with 1kg of onions sliced up and then drain and boil down stock.  I did it pot roast instead, which was easier.  Both shredded chicken and onions go in, plus cooled jellied stock mixed with egg.

1 chicken made 2 pies (1 is in the freezer) and each pie makes 4 servings so very economical, but feels luxurious  :)
