Tomato disappointment: Garden Leader 'Monster'
« on: July 16, 2022, 21:33 »
I bought seeds of this variety, having never heard of it before. Advertised as producing fruits up to 2 pounds. So far this season, I have one 2-ounce fruit from about 8 plants. Plants bloom with very poor fruit set. It might as well be called Garden Laggard 'Miniature'. Maybe I'll get more production later, but I doubt it.

Gardener's Delight planted in the same bed, same conditions, are producing well.

Grew this last year, "Giantomo", tipped the scales at just over 1kg. Having another crack this year, but can't say that I'm over-confident!

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thought I'd try and make a real effort with them this year, but so far none of them have produced the large flower that you're supposed to leave and pinch out the others. Last year I just left them alone!

Good (hot arleady) morning everyone,
If I removed all tom's from a bush but left one, would this increase the chances of growing a monster? ::)

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !
