Thay have to be 'Joan J' here, Wbmkk!

They're easy to grow, you can prune with a hedge trimmer after fruiting, they only need bit of taming just before they fruit, so a bit of string here and there doesn't go amiss, and the fruit is just fabulous! The season can easily go on for weeks in a good year

If you can feed them before they get fruiting, you'll be rewarded with a great crop of huge berries!

Joan J here as well. Chop to ground level every winter, mulch and feed. Then just leave them to it. I've never had to support mine and they taste great.

So .. 3 out of 3 .. of 100% of folk say Joan J .. so that's the one I'll go with

I could maybe add a few Polka or Autumn Bliss too  .. to extend my harvest period

NEW QUESTION .. will fabric membrane prevent roots from spreading from the raspberries. previously I used compost bin bags to line the trench, but I was given some weed fabric from a market gardener recently, so thought that might work too .. it's white heavy duty stuff
