Plum and apple tree My brothers got an apple tree and plum tree it's been in the garden there for a couple of years will it be okay to move it to put into my garden now and can you trim back the root system a bit if they're too big thanks

It should be OK but move them soon as they will be starting into growth very shortly.

If you trim roots, trim the tops back as well.  Reckon on about the same amount removed top and bottom to balance out the tree.  Plant with well rotted manure or good compost and make sure you keep them well watered this spring and summer once they leaf up.  I wouldn’t worry too much about feeding, just get them growing and establishing in their new places.

Don’t forget to stake the trees for the first few years , put the stake in before you plant to avoid possibly damaging the roots .
