Robertina Sweet Red Peppers
« on: August 25, 2021, 14:33 »
Hi Everyone
This is my first attempt at red peppers in my unheated greenhouse (apart from seedmats). These were planted from seed 29 April - see pictures. As you can see there is one there about 5cm across, and a few more forming, plus another 8-10 flowers. Is there anything I should be doing apart from watering/feeding? The plant is about 60cm high. There are also flowers near the bottom. Is it now just a waiting game until it ripens and forms more peppers, I just get the feeling its not going to have time to form full size peppers, did I plant too late ? Or does everything look about normal. Any advice at all please. Thanks.

Peppers need a long season so if you have a warm, south facing window try starting them earlier ( (February) next year.  If you have room, this years plants might keep going long enough to ripen (and even survive winter) in a similar location.  Keep your eye out for infestation though, spider mite and aphids seem to love a pepper plant on a warm window cill.
