A rose by any other name...
« on: September 26, 2020, 10:36 »
Good morning everyone,   we are used to growing varieties with names such as Gardener's delight, Money maker, Alicante even Coure di Bue and Brandywine.  :)

I've just eaten a tomato (slighty fried on toast with a couple of poached eggs on top) called Ace 55 vf, I believe an Hearloom tomato.  A crackin' determinate tomato  and I "recommend it to the house". :D

My first growing of a Determinate as a Determinate and not as an Indeterminate.

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Wow!

That is the biggest tom we've ever seen!

We used to grow Marshalls enormous onions, but now we're down to two of us, we just can't use a whole one..:0(

Are they - er - 'large' people working there..?

Hello you've mentioned it already Ace 55vf use to be one of the parent crosses to Money marketing the early 1980s then they reckoned to improve it to get more tomatoes per truss  jezza
