Sweetcorn kernels on male part of plant
« on: August 09, 2020, 18:16 »
My swift sweetcorn has some weird sweetcorn kernels on the male part of the plant. I've not seen this before, so is it anything to worry about?

I had that on my Incredible sweetcorn one year - it's called a Tassel Ear and just one of those things, nothing to worry about. You sometimes get the opposite happening with flower tassels growing where silks/corncobs should grow. All something to do with plant hormones IIRC  ::)
