Rhubarb Leaves v The Whitefly
i did this last year, added rhubarb leaves to my water butt and left to rot! The water stinks but i had no problems with cabbage whites. Didnt try on white fly though! May give it a go this year?

Unfortunately i am moving my water butts soon and the rhubarb one is full of stinky water!!!! Oh dear!!!

I have never done this but I seem to remember reading that you boil the leaves then use the cooking water as shown  below

•   Boil 500 g (2 cups) of rhubarb leaves in 1 litre of water for 30 minutes.
•   Let cool and strain.
•   Useful against aphids, leaf miners and spider mites.

Taken from the following website for alternative to insecticides.

I use Rhubarb in water barrels (rhubarb tea) to help deter cabbage white butterfly,s laying eggs on my brassica,s, seems to work.
I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.

Our neighbour gave us some of this yesterday. She said it would kill what was on the brassicas now but wouldn't stop the white fly coming back. My 9 million cavolo nero seedlings were fine on Monday but I went to continue thinning yesterday afternoon and got swarmed with white fly.
