Multi-purpose Compost
« on: April 09, 2020, 13:09 »
I haven't got any.   But I have got plastic sacks of well rotted farm manure and 2 grow bags.    Could I mix or make do with this for geranium cuttings, potting summer bedding etc.    Your advice please will be welcome.  Mrs Bouquet

For the geranium cuttings, I would just use the growbag compost alone.  They need sharp drainage.

For potting up more mature plants, you could mix the manure in. I have got a couple of bags and was thinking the other day that I would mix them into the compost I plant the tomatoes and other greenhouse crops in.  It will help me stretch out my compost supplies  :)

Notice a few posts here about lack of compost. B&M Bargains (with garden centre) have loads in stock - at least mine does.

I have just found the local GC is delivering compost only.  I have ordered mine, but I expect the queue to be a while.  They only have one man and a van.    Still they are having a go, especially as he has just bought it.  It was a Wyevale.     Thanks for your help.  Mrs Bouquet

...the wilkos in my neighbourhood has some. Apparently B&Q let you collect it from outside the store if you order online (call up and place a booking) - seems complicated process, though.

I was lucky because a plot holder ordered a few bags from a local nursary that still delivers - delivery charge was steep, though.

I hope you find some compost
