When I was four, I went to a small school in my village. I was the first pupil there, and there were four of us boys by the end of the term!
The lady in charge, was a staunch no-nonsense sort, a fantastic expert with Arab Stallions, and just loved small boys mucking around all the time; but she had a stern appearance, and we never did make too much mayhem.
One day, we were taught to re-enact the 'Sky falling down on my head' story. Now, this is where Mrs Growster and I always argue the toss. I say that the lead part was 'Hen-Len', where she says it was 'Henny-Penny'!
We had 'Duck-Luck, and 'Goose-loose', and 'Gander-Lander', but Mrs Growster says it was 'Ducky-Lucky and Goosey-Loosey' etc! (She was a kindergarten teacher for many years)!
Various fights occur when the subject crops up at 'The Turrets', usually decided by three falls or a submission in the form of a tincture, but I'm convinced I'm right! Also, my dear old teacher wouldn't ever have ever let her small boys have such 'girly' names in such an important play!
